Hyderabad: In order to maintain law and order, prevent incidents of breach and accidents during the celebration of Sankranti Festival, Police have banned kite flying on thoroughfares and in and around worship places during the Sankranti festival in the city.
As per the prohibitory orders issued by Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand which would be in place between 6 am on January 14 to 6 am on January 16, flying of kites on thoroughfares in and around places of worship has been prohibited to maintain public order.
In a notification, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand has ordered that kite flying on all thoroughfares and in and around places of worship will be prohibited for maintenance of public order and public safety during the celebration of Sankranthi festival in Hyderabad from January 14 to 16.
Citizens of the city have been advised that children should not be allowed to fly kites from the terraces which do not have parapet walls, to avoid any untoward incident.
Revellers will not be allowed to collect wood forcibly for bonfires. Any person found violating the orders shall be liable for prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli (No.IX) and Environment (Protection)Act, 1986 and other relevant laws, the notification said.
The Commissioner also ordered that no loud speakers /DJs will be allowed or played in public spaces or public places without the required permission from the concerned police authorities as per rule 8 of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 and no provocative speeches or songs also be played.
A loud speaker or a public address system should not be used during the nights between 10 PM to 6 AM as per the directions of the Supreme Court, the notification added.
The order will be in force with effect from 0600 hours on January 14 to 0600 hours on January 16, 2023. (UNI)
