New Delhi: In an upset the student wing of All India congress, NSUI has bagged two top notch seats out of four in recently concluded DUSU elections.Earlier Counting began here this morning for which polling was conducted in two sessions yesterday. For the day colleges, it began at 0830 hrs and concluded at 1230 hrs while for the evening colleges it started at 1500 hrs and ended at 1900 hrs. Around 42.8 per cent of the total 1.32 lakh students have cast their votes. In the initial trends, ABVP was leading in all the four posts, but the Congress' National Students Union of India (NSUI) later took a lead.
The Congress affiliated National Students Union of India (NSUI) today made a comeback after four years by winning the post of President and Vice-president in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections, while the post of Secretary and Joint Secretary went to the RSS' student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Earlier after the counting of votes, it had been declared that NSUI had bagged three posts but after recounting, one post went in favour of ABVP.(UNI)
