Sambalpur: People for Animals (PFA) Chairperson and Lok Sabha MP Maneka Gandhi has asked Sambalpur District SP B Gangadhar to initiate action against a lady for allegedly poisoned 11 dogs in Jagruti Vihar of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd Campus.

Ms Gandhi on Tuesday called on Burla IIC Kamal Lochan Panda and instructed him to take legal action as per law against the lady.

As per information, a young lady officer of MCL, few days back, had complained to the security department that her two-wheeler was badly damaged by the stray dogs.

A few days after it, 11 dogs were found lying dead near D Block of the colony and the security department suspected it to be the work of that lady officer.

The PFA, Sambalpur branch, also lodged a complaint with the Burla Police which did not act on the FIR.

The PFA activists requested Maneka Gandhi to intervene in the matter. (UNI)
