Bhubaneswar: A team of STF with the help of Forest Officials of Boudh Forest Division have arrested a wildlife criminal and seized a leopard skin, deer skin and other incriminating materials from his possession.
STF sources here on Sunday said based on information, a team of STF conducted raid with the help of Forest Officials of Boudh Forest Division on Saturday on the public road connecting Chhatranga to Harabhanga under Harabhanga Police station jurisdiction in Boudh district and arrested one Girish Kumar Sahoo.
During the search three wildlife skins and other incriminating materials were recovered from his possession.
In this connection a case U/s 379/411/120(B) IPC r/w. Sec.51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 is being registered against the accused.
He will be forwarded to the Court of JMFC, Harabhanga, Charichhak, Boudh.
The skins will be sent to Director WII, Dehradun for biological examination. Investigation is going on. (UNI)
