Old Rs 500 note good-bye from market, deposit in Bank

Mumbai: Old Rs 500 will say good-bye to market from midnight today, it will be deposit in the bank till December 30, this year.The Message is pouring in the mobile phone from government offices and municipal offices alternating citizen to pay their taxes like property tax, electricity bills and other government taxes by Rs 500 old notes as today is the last date for acceptance.

Now, citizens have to deposit Rs 500 old notes in the bank only from tomorrow till December 30.The government has de-legalised the high-denomination Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes from midnight of November eight, this year.

The government permitted to the citizen to use old notes for mobile recharge, milk co-operative stores, state-run ration shops, government hospitals, flight, train or bus ticket bookings, and payments at crematoria and burial grounds. (UNI)
