Ahemdabad: As soon as the Ayesha suicide case became a hot cake for mainstream media, Police have been taking swift action. The latest development in the case is the arrest of Arif, the husband of the victim who jumped into the Sabarmati river a few days back to put an end to her life.
It is to be noted that after the heart-wrenching video of Ayesha, audio has come to the fore where she is describing her ordeal to her parents. She blamed Arif for exploiting her over the years.
Abetment to suicide case has been filed against Arif native of Jalor Rajasthan. The duo got hitched in the year 2018. After the suicidal video of Ayesha went viral police went to arrest Arif from his home where it was informed that the accused had gone to attend a wedding. Later he was traced to Pali through a mobile location and subsequently arrested on Monday late at night.
Ayesha was pursuing an MA in economics from SV commerce college located on relief road. She was also working in a company on a part-time basis. After 2 years of Marriage, Ayesha started living with her parents as her husband Arif allegedly exploited her.
Her father Liakat Ali told media persons that dowry destroyed the life of her happy-go-lucky daughter. The in-laws used to exploit her daughter in many ways. Once they didn't provide her food for 3 days.
Ayesha's mobile was in the custody of her in-laws. She once arranged a mobile from the neighborhood and told her parents about her starvation. Without much ado, Liakat took his daughter from hell and registered a case against the in-laws and Arif on grounds of domestic violence. In her last Video, Ayesha demanded to roll back the same case, but Liakat is in no mood to leave the culprits of her daughter's death. (WD)
