Operation against militants holed up in Srinagar continues

Srinagar, Oct 10 (UNI) A search operation was going on against the militants holed up in a government building at Pampore, about 10 km from Srinagar-Jammu national highway.

The building of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) at Pampore caught fire, but fire tenders could not go inside due to some firing shots, an official of the Fire and Emergency Department told UNI.

Traffic on the highway has been closed as a precautionary measure and vehicles are being diverted through Somarbugh and other alternative routes, official sources said.
