Panther found dead on Baba Badam Shah Road in Ajmer district

Ajmer: A panther was found dead in the forests of the Somalpur hills of Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Tuesday morning.
 
A few villagers recovered the carcass on Baba Badam Shah Road and promptly informed the Ramganj police station.
 
Assistant Sub-Inspector Hoshiyar Singh arrived at the scene and notified the Forest Department.
 
An Indian Forest Service trainee, Venkatesh, also arrived from Ajmer and took custody of the panther carcass.
 
Preliminary assessments suggest that the big cat died likely due to a fight.
 
The exact cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
