New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a book 'Matoshree' authored by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in Parliament Library Building (PLB) here. The book covers the life and times of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Besides the Speaker and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, the function was also attended by several MPs.
After the release of the book, a play based on it was staged in Balayogi Auditorium at the Parliamentary Library Building. The play 'Matoshree' was divided in fifteen scenes wherein the author, with great sensitivity and understanding, depicted the struggle, predicaments and qualities of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar.
The play was organised by 'Avirat' and was directed by Rajan Deshmukh. Established in 1976, Avirat based at Indore is active in Hindi and Marathi drama presentations on stage. (UNI)
