PM pitches for ‘’spotless character’’ in public life

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hit out at the Opposition for its campaign against demonetisation saying the loss of values in public life was disturbing as there were people who were openly supporting corruption. The Prime Minister also said there should be a precondition for entering public life—having an ‘’spotless character.’’ ‘’Now people are making speeches in favour of corruption, taking to streets in support of it.

There can be no greater fall of public standards,’’ the Prime Minister said at a function to pay tribute to veteran Jana Sangh leader Kedarnath Sahani. His remarks came as an obvious jibe at the Opposition parties like the Congress, the TMC, the AAP who have held rallies and protest against demonetisation, saying the move was only harassing the common man instead of really striking at sources of black money. Mr Modi said the coming generations of the country would not forgive those who were compromising with values. (UNI)
