PM to unveil 112-foot statue of Shiva in TN

Coimbatore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his greetings on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. In a message, he greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the 112 feet statue of Shiva known as ‘Adiyogi’ on Mahashivaratri .

The programme will be held at Isha Yoga Center, the foothills of western ghats here, in the presence of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudeve. This will be the largest face created on the planet to recognize Adiyogi’s unparalleled contribution to humanity.

Police sources said that elaborate security arrangement has been made in the city as well as on the outskirts of the city, where the Isha Yoga centre is situated. Senior Police Official J K Tripathi , Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) and IGP (Intelligence of police) S Davidson Devasirvadham reviewed the security arrangements in the city and at the Isha Yoga Centre yesterday.

IAF Choppers from Sulur Air base took rehearsal flights to the helipad near theYoga centre . The sources said Mr Modi will arrive at Sulur Air Base and from there he will fly in a chopper to the Yoga centre, the sources added. Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) authorities said that four emergency medical teams have been kept ready for the visit of Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, various organisations have urged the Prime Minister not to visit Isha Yoga Center as it has violated various rules in the forest and their activities are against the environment. (UNI)
