PM welcomes Indian athlete’s homecoming

New Delhi: "Special gratitude to the host nation, Brazil for hosting people from across the world and organising a memorable #OlympicGames," Mr Modi said in his social networking site Twitter."Want to specially wish the Indian contingent at #Rio2016.Every athlete gave his or her best," the PM tweeted."Spectacular #ClosingCeremony for #Rio2016.I congratulate all athletes who took part in the games.@Olympics." India bagged one silver and a bronze medal by ace shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik respectively at Rio.

Hyderabad cheers Silver Sidhu

Silver medalist PV Sindhu received a warm welcome as she returned to her native city Hyderabad. Telangana government felicitated PV Sindhu and her coach Pullella Gopichand at the Gachibowli Stadium.  Sindhu said that it was her dream to win an Olympic medal and it has come true. While Her coach believed that best of Sidhu is yet to come.(UNI)
