Police seize Rs 25.10 lakh, including Rs 14 lakh in new currency

Belagavi: Belagavi District Police officials have seized 25.20 lakh cash including Rs 14 lakh in new two thousand rupee notes in Nippani police station limits Belagavi District Superintendent of police Ravikanthegouda in a press release today said, three people from Nippani city Raju Shanthilal Shaha, Mukesh Viswanath Kadam and Dattha Appa Latkar were carrying huge amount illegally, without any relevent documents, in a car to Nippani from Galagatha Village last evening.

While two of them were arrested, the third person escaped.He said Belagavi District Crime Branch (DCB) police inspector and their team had stopped and searched a vehicle after receiving credible information and recovered the money.The Police investigation is on.
