New Delhi:The Supreme court on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to immediately release freelance journalist Prashant Kanojia, arrested for allegedly posting objectionable tweets against state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on bail.
A vacation bench, headed by Justice Indira Banerjee, passed the order after hearing detailed arguments from the Uttar Pradesh government and Kanojia."We immediately order his release on bail. We are not considering the case on merit," the bench said.(UNI)
