Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has gone on high alert, following reports of recovery of a plastic explosive inside the state Assembly on July 12. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for a high-level meeting here at the Assembly premises this morning which will be chaired by Assembly Speaker Hridya Narain Dikshit and other political leaders and police officials. However, the incident has brought forth a big lapse on the part of the UP police and the Assembly security.
A powerful explosive was detected under the table of the Samajwadi Party front row members which is also occupied by leader of the opposition Ram Govind Choudhury and Manoj Pandey. Sources here today said that the explosive was found by the security personnel with the help of dog squad on July 12 on the premises which could have created a big mishap. As per information, the explosive is reported to be PETN , a powerful explosive and the forensic lab has corroborated its nature. It was also said that 60 grams of this suspicious white powder was found on the Assembly premises. However, no official confirmation has been received so far. (UNI)
