Priest beaten to death in the temple located at Doghat area of Baghpat

Baghpat: A priest was beaten to death by an unidentified person in a temple in Doghat area. Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said on Saturday the priest Sadhu Lal Giri was living at Bhumia temple for the last eight months.

"On Saturday morning some farmers called the priest and when Giri did not reply one of the persons went to the temple and recovered his body," he said. Along with the SP, Additional SP Manish Mishra reached the spot with a dog squad. "Prima facie it a dispute behind the offering at the temple seems to be a reason behind the murder. The matter is being investigated," Jadaun said. (UNI)
