Pune: A city-based chartered accountancy firm launched a campaign to collect the national flags that were abandoned on streets here.

The members of CA firm, Kirtane and Pandit LLP, ran the 'Mera Tiranga Mera Abhimaan' (My Tricolour My Pride) campaign in the city, in which around 100 volunteers collected flags abandoned on Karve Road, Paud Rd, Ferguson Rd, Deccan Gymkhana along with many other places in the city.

The collected flags will be handed over to the Bharat Flag Foundation.

CA Ruta Chitale, RCM of ICAI, Mausami Shah, president of WICASA, CA Shashank Patki, KP's partner Shripad Kulkarni, Pralhad Mandhana, Tanmay Bodhe and Anand Jog were present on the occasion.

"We initiated this initiative because many people hoisted the national flag to celebrate 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' but it is often seen that these flags are often seen abandoned on the street and later thrown with the waste. These flags will be handed over to Bharat Flag Foundation with respect," said CA Milind Limaye, partner of Kirtane & Pandit LLP. (UNI)
