Pune Test: Australia in the driver’s seat, leads by 298 runs

Pune: Australia took a commanding position in the ongoing first Test against India after finishing the second day on 143 runs losing four wickets at the MCA stadium here this evening.Resuming their second innings from 46/2, after Steve O'Keefe's career best 6/35 bundled out India on a paltry 105 runs, the visitors added another 97 runs losing two wickets in the final session of the day.

After claiming couple of Australian wickets in the post-lunch session, Ravichandran Ashwin striked again as the final session kicked-off to dismiss Peter Handscomb (19).Reeling at 61/3, skipper Steve Smith then stiched a crucial 52-run partnership with Matt Renshaw (31) before Yadav dismissed the last-inning's opener.Incoming batsman Mitchell Marsh then joined his captain and the duo added 30-runs to take a lead of 298 runs.
