Moga: A man allegedly murdered his wife, who was reportedly a cancer patient, at Thathi Bhai village in this district, police said on Saturday.
Satveer, brother of the deceased woman Charanjit Kaur (50) said his sister was married to Angrej Singh and she was living with her daughter Kuljit Kaur. Her husband Angrej Singh brought her back to the village on January 14.
Angrej informed his daughter Kuljit on Friday that he had left her mother Charanjit at an old-age home in Tarn Taran. Kuljit told her maternal uncle Satveer who rushed to the village and found the gate of the house locked. On finding smoke rising from the courtyard, he opened the gate and found a human body had been burnt there. He informed the police.
A Police officer said as per the preliminary investigation Angrej had killed his wife because of her illness.
He said a case against Angrej Singh under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC. (UNI)
