Chandigarh: Morinda sacrilege accused died in a Mansa hospital on Monday night where he was admitted to after he complained of chest pain.
Police said on Tuesday that Jasvir Singh, who was lodged at Mansa jail under judicial custody, was admitted to Mansa civil hospital after he complained of feeling uneasiness.
He died at 2100 hrs. Police said that the cause of death will be known after post mortem.
SSP Nanak Singh told media that a judicial inquest is underway and post mortem will be conducted at Patiala Medical college. He said that his family was informed.
Jasvir Singh was brought to Mansa jail on April 29 after he was sent to judicial custody on completion of his police custody.
Jasvir Singh was arrested on April 24 after a sacrilege incident in Gurudwara Shri Kotwali Sahib in Morinda of Ropad district. (UNI)
