Rajasthan: Pregnant woman raped, murdered in Dausa, accused's house set on fire by victim's kin

The relatives of a rape and murder victim allegedly set the accused's house on fire in Rajasthan's Dausa. Angry villagers also vandalized the houses of the accused's relatives. They even damaged a police vehicle.

According to police, the incident took place at around 10 pm on Thursday night in Nandri village of Mehandipur Balaji, Dausa. However, no one was present in the house.

After the incident, when the police reached the spot, angry people attempted to vandalize police vehicles and pelted stones at the police.

Before arsoning, the villagers held a meeting in the evening and decided to give them heavy punishment.

A married and 6-months pregnant woman was allegedly raped and murdered on April 27 and her body was found the next day. The accused Jagram Meena, a resident of same village, was arrested on April 29.

7-8 people who were involved in the incident received burn injuries and they were admitted to a hospital, police sources said. The rape accused is still in police custody.
