Rajkot: England were 114 for no loss at stumps on their second innings, taking a lead of 163 runs with 10 wickets remaining, in the ongoing first Test against India at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium here this evening.
The visitors bowled out the Virat Kohli-led side on 488 runs before going for tea.In the post-tea session, after taking a 49 run lead, the England openers Alastair Cook and Haseeb Hameed hammered the Indian bowlers all around the park, putting a vital 114 run partnership for the first wicket and were unbeaten on 46 and 62 respectively when stumps were drawn.Earlier in the fourth day, hosts India resumed from their overnight score of 319 with six wickets in hand.
However, the Kohli-led side suffer a blow in the initial overs of the day when Ajinkya Rahane's bells were dislodged while trying to pull a delivery on back-foot off a Zafar Ansari delivery.(UNI)
