Mumbai:Rajkumar known for his phenomenal performance has gone under a rigorous diet for his forthcoming film titled Trapped directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

The actor who plays lead in this survival drama this time yet again has gone under the skin of his character! Rajkumar who had to appear weak for a certain potion of the film went under a rigorous diet which must have been never attempted before! The actor literally went on one carrot and one coffee diet for about 20-22 days in order to look real for his character!

Raj survived on this extreme diet for 22 days and he lost about 6-7 kgs in 20 days! It was clearly an extreme diet that Raj decided to take on! In fact when the film was screened at a film festival, Raj has gathered immense accolades for his sheer brilliant performance in the film! The actor takes you off the seat in every single scene! He also got a standing ovation and thunders of applaud for his excellent portrayal of his character Shaurya. Not only this, the actor has made sure that the audiences feel Trapped with him too!!

Rajkumar says, "It was a part of my process to prepare for, 'Trapped.' Shaurya, is trapped inside a house for almost 3 weeks without any food or water. It is a survival drama. I wanted to feel the hunger and desperation that one goes through, if put in such extreme conditions."

He further added, "It began with the film only. That was always the plan. I started losing weight while we were filming. It was a constant struggle to fight hunger. I've realized that we always take everything in our life for granted. What if there are situations in ones life when there is no food or water for days? How will one survive? It was quite a struggle to be on such a strict diet. One gets bad mood swings. The energy level really goes down but, I guess that is the fun of being an actor. You get to do things which u can't do otherwise."

"Luckily, there were not many hazardous effects apart from a couple of black outs and body cramps. However, you really die of hunger. I guess, more than food it's water which is really important. I was having a cup of black coffee and 2 carrots a day in order to survive. I'm totally thrilled for the kind of response 'Trapped' has received. The response was overwhelming for all of us", he added.

Vikramaditya and Rajkumar have had a great time shooting the film!
