Rita B.Joshi resigns from Congress, switches sides to BJP

Congress stumbles before the UP poll

New Delhi: Congress senior leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi today resigned from the party and membership of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Ms Joshi has sent her resignation to Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey by post and on email to the Assembly Secretariat.

The former senior member of party Rita then accepted the membership of BJP in the presence of the national president Amit Shah. Miffed at the stance of Congress on the recently conducted surgical strike Rita stated that country comes first and every citizen should accept the official statement of the army. Lauding PM Modi she said the government has done a commendable work to counter terror. Rita also criticized the “Khoon ki dalali” statement of Rahul Gandhi. (UNI)
