Lucknow: In an attempt to dispel his image as Hindu mascot of the BJP, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today stressed on `Sabka saath sabka vikas’ saying his government would ensure progress for all so that state could come out of the mire of bad governance and lack of development. In his almost 12 minute interaction with media he spoke twice about `Sabka saath, sabka vikas’ stressing on implementation of BJP’s Sankalp patra (election manifesto) in letter and in spirit. “I assure people that my government will work for the welfare of people.

The mandate people have given us is for development. We have our job cut out and will reach the target in record time,” Yogi said while addressing his first press conference here after taking oath of the CM post. The selection of Yogi as Chief Minister has started tongue waging that BJP was out to implement its Hindutava agenda by marginalizing members of minority community. Some even suggested that BJP was out to polarise society on communal lines and reminded old quotes of Yogi where he had asked Muslims to go back to Pakistan or had called women as child producing machine.

Yogi probably knew that building confidence among all sections of the society was primary job for him so in his maiden interaction with media as Chief Minister he repeatedly spoke about development and how all sections of the society have been deprived of basic necessities during previous regimes. “Development in UP has suffered because of poor law and order. Priority of the government is to bring the development back to rails in UP. We will implement the policies which will help all sections of society,” Yogi said stressing on the word 'all'. “We will have policies that will benefit poor, dalit and backwards. Our policies will target rural areas because UP still lives in villages.

There is need to bring reforms in the farm sector and we will work in this direction. In Urban areas we will create jobs and provide quality education to the youth and children of this state,” he said. He said this mandate is to bring change and we will bring change in the positive direction. “UP awaits transformation and this BJP government will bring that transformation – come what may,” Yogi said. Earlier, Yogi took charge of the Government in his new office at Lok Bhawan. He was escorted to his room by Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar.

As the previous government has divested all the secretaries of the then Chief Minister of their charges and has sent them on waiting list, Chief secretary took the new CM and his two deputies – Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma – to the guided tour of his office. In his official chamber, Yogi had a meeting with Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary Law and Order Devashish Panda. He also had a meeting with former Chief Secretary of UP Nripendra Mishra. Sources said Mishra is helping the CM in posting of new bureaucrats. (UNI)
