New Delhi: Sandeep Kumar, Delhi's former minister who was caught in a sex scandal and arrested by Delhi Police, has been called ''innocent'' by his spouse. In an interview given to a private news channel, Ritu said her husband is 'not guilty'. ''Conspiracy is being hatched against Sandeep, but the whole family stands besides him,'' Ms Kumar said.

Terming the sex CD as 'fake,' she said the person shown in the CD is not him and she will try her best to prove Sandeep innocent. Ritu refused to comment on the termination of Sandeep's primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party. She said she was not aware as to why he has been shunted out. The surfacing of sex CD has caused a ripple effect in political circles of Delhi. In the hustle-bustle, Sandeep was removed from the Minister's post and subsequently from the party. He was taken into custody by the Delhi Police yesterday.
