New Delhi: The Supreme court today declined to order the CBI for an inquiry against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindhia and others in connection with case pertaining to the mining allotment in 2014. A bench of the apex Court, headed by Justice J Chelameshwar and also comprising Justice Prafulla C Pant, dismissed a public interest litigation(PIL) that sought a CBI investigation into the matter.

The court while dismissing the petition, cited and observed that this is the Government which cancelled all the leases so they cannot be accused in a PIL which the Rajasthan High court had rightly dismissed. The PIL was filed by Congress leader Ram Singh Kaswan seeking a CBI inquiry into the matter.(UNI)
