SC refuses to stay hearings in demonetisation cases in various courts

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today refused to stay the hearings in various High Courts and lower courts in connection with the matters related to demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes and issued notices to all the petitioners in the case.
 

A bench, headed by Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur, said that at this stage, 'We are not inclined to stay the hearings and issued notices to all the petitioners in the case. ' Earlier during the hearing, the Chief Justice had said the petitions challenging the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes indicate the magnitude of the problem. (UNI)
