Security force opens fire in Baramulla, one youth killed, toll rises to 71

Srinagar: A youth was killed and some others were injured when security forces opened fire to disperse demonstrators in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla today. With this a total of 71 people , mostly youths were killed and over 6000 injured in security forces firing since July 9, a day after the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Buran Wani and two other militants were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir.
 

Official sources said people, mostly youths took to streets at Ladoora, Soopore in Baramulla district. Raising 'pro freedom' slogans demonstrators blocked the main road. Security forces allegedly resorted to firing in which several people were injured. The injured were rushed to hospital where one of them identified as Danish was declared dead. Reports of clashes were also received from other parts of the valley. (UNI)
