Sexual harassment: Mother-in-law files complaint against son-in-law

Kakinada: A 40-year-old widow has filed a complaint against her own son-in-law for sexually harassing her and sought police protection to safeguard her modesty.

The complainant woman, hailing from Polamuru village in Anaparty Mandal married her only daughter with the accused eight years ago.

According to her, ever since the marriage, then son-in-law kept misbehaving with her by passing obscene remarks. “Apart from giving him a dowry, I also gave him Rs 5 lakh for his business development,” the victim woman said.

Further sharing her 8 years of ordeal, she said the accused attempted to overpower her several times but remained unsuccessful. The accused also threatened to kill her if she did not obey to his odious desires.

On Wednesday night, the accused forcibly tried to outrage her modesty and the woman finally approached the Anaparty police and sought their protection.

The police said they have registered a case and launched a hunt for the accused who is at large. (UNI)
