BMC polls: Shiv Sena ahead of BJP in Mumbai

Mumbai : As per initial trend, Shiv Sena is leading in 32 seats in Mumbai and 10 seats in the Thane Municipal Corporation election, while Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in four seats in Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation. In Nashik Municipal corporation, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has suffered a setback as party is trailing behind the BJP, similarly, in Pune also, BJP candidates are leading in the initial trend.
 

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Ashok Chavan has maintained his hold at the Nanded Zilla Parishad as its candidates are leading in more at 15 seats. As per political experts, Shiv Sena is likely to emerge as the single largest party in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). But, there possibility of hung governance in the corporation while its former ally BJP would be in second place. The Congress is also likely to get a setback in Solapur with BJP candidates leading on four seats. (UNI)
