Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday accepted the resignation of controversial Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod for his alleged involvement in the mysterious death of Tik Tok star Pooja Chavan.
Mr Thackeray accepted the resignation of Mr Rathod after the opposition BJP staged a state-wide agitation on Saturday, demanding the resignation of the minister over the matter.
Mr Rathod had earlier tendered his resignation, but requested the Chief Minister not to accept it till a probe into the matter is completed. He had also denied all the allegations made against him.
On February 8, Pooja allegedly ended her life by jumping off a building. Hailing from Parli town of Beed district, Pooja had gone to Pune for an English-speaking course. She lived in Heaven Park society along with two people, who are reported to be her brother and one of his friends. (UNI)
