Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh to the families of Shivamogga mining explosion victims.
While interacting with the reporters here, the CM said that he will visit the spot on Saturday and ensured that that the guilty will be punished.
He said so far five bodies have been recovered from the quarry mining place.
Minister Muragish Nirani and MP Ragavendra are still present in the accident spot.
Stating that the bomb expert team has already reached the spot and after the preliminary report, actions would be taken against the guilty, the CM said.
The government, he said, has already taken action against illegal mining and would be further tightening the noose. Once the reports are out, severe action would be initiated against the guilty. (UNI)
