Shocking! DSP lynched to death for taking pictures before Jamia Masjid

Srinagar: A DSPl was lynched to death by a mob outside the historic Jamia Masjid in the downtown, early this morning. Official sources told UNI that a man was taking photographs of people outside the historic Masjid in suspicious circumstances, when the devotees were coming out after joining the night long Shab-e-Qadar prayers. The mob quizzed about his identity and then tried to nab him, in reply he fired shot in air which injured three persons.
 

Later, he was lynched to death by the mob. Police took away the body for identification, they said. He was identified as Mohammad Ayub Pandit, an officer of intelligence agency, the sources said, adding that further details were awaited. Three persons who suffered bullet injuries were admitted to hospital. (UNI)
