Six workers burnt alive in Pune bakery fire

Pune: Six workers were charred to death today when a fire broke out in a bakery in Kondhwa, here. According to Police source, the incident occurred in the Bakes and Cakes bakery, when all the six workers were sleeping inside and the door of the bakery was locked from outside. The deceased have been identified as Irshad Khan (26), Shanu Ansari (22), Zakir Ansari (24), Fahim Ansari (25), Zubed Ansari (25), Nishant Ansari (21), all residents of Bijnor, UP.
 

Police have detained the owner of bakery Abdulla Mohammad Yusuf (27), Tayyab Ansari (26) and other partners. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but by the primary investigation, it seems that it could be due to short circuit. The Police and the fire brigade reached the spot, shortly after the incident occurred and controlled the blaze. Police said, "We are investigating the matter and further investigation is going on."
