AAP MLA Somnath Bharti arrested for assaulting AIIMS security guards

New Delhi: The Delhi Police today arrested AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, for allegedly assaulting security guards of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), police sources said. On September 11, an FIR was filed at the Hauz Khas police station against Mr Bharti and his supporters for allegedly misbehaving with security guards of AIIMS.

They were booked for allegedly misbehaving with security personnel and damaging government property on September 9. Mr Bharti was earlier granted bail in a domestic violence case registered against him by his wife Lipika Mitra. The arrest comes a day after another AAP legislator, Amanatullah Khan was arrested in a case related to alleged sexual harassment. (UNI)
