Rajgir: Altogether eight people were crushed to death by a Speeding truck when its driver lost control over the vehicle under Telhara police station area in Nalanda district on Sunday.
Police said here that a truck had left Jehanabad for Nalanda and its driver suddenly lost control over the vehicle which rammed into a roadside stall under Telhara police station area, killing eight people on the spot while several others sustained injuries in the incident. The deceased had not been identified so far, police added.
Locals, enraged over the incident, started pelting stones causing injuries to one policeman on the spot, police said adding that the injured had been admitted to a local hospital. Senior police officers reached the spot soon after the incident and used mild force to restore public order. (UNI)
