Taking Selfie on railway track proved costly for three teenagers

Bengaluru: Selfie craze cost three teenagers dearly as they were run over by a train near Manchanayakanahalli near Bidadi in Ramanagaram District of Karnataka today. Police said the trio in the age group of 17 to 19 years had come to the place on two-wheelers to visit a nearby water theme entertainment park 'Wonder la'. As it was not yet open in the morning, they parked their vehicles near a railway overbridge and went to the railway tracks and even as Golgumbaz Express coming from the city to Mysuru was approaching. They tried to take selfie with the cell cameras and were run over by the train.
 

The three bodies were smashed to several pieces and were beyond recognition and were strewn in about 200 square feet area. However the identity of one of the youths was revealed by his college ID card as Prabhu Anand. He was studying in a first year degree course in a Koramangala college in the city, police said. The identity of the other two teenagers was yet to be ascertained. (UNI)
