Tamil Nadu: Farm labourer killed in crocodile attack at Old Kollidam river

Chennai: A farm labourer was killed in a crocodile attack on the banks of the Old Kollidam River at Kattukudalur near Chidambaram in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday evening.
 
The deceased was identified as 54-year-old P.Sundaramoorthy.
 
Forest department sources said unaware of the lurking danger, the victim had gone to the river to bathe his cattle.
 
Suddenly, a crocodile emerged from the river, grabbed him by his arm and dragged him into the waters.
 
Acting on information, the Fire Services personnel retrieved the body of the agricultural labourer after search operations that lasted nearly five hours.
 
The body was sent to the Chidambaram General Hospital for autopsy. (UNI)
