It shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise that many people have resorted to online gaming as a result of the pandemic. COVID-19 has forced people indoors to quarantine themselves, especially in the early days of quarantine. Of course, to pass the time, people cycled through all sorts of different activities.

There were some who decided to dive into hobbies like reading, knitting, baking, cooking, or even exercise. But of course, a huge bulk of the population chose to spend their time on games. In India alone, it is estimated that there are more than 300 million people who engage in some kind of gaming every day whether it be mobile games, PC games, online slots, online poker, and console games.

Different Gaming Devices
There are primarily three devices that people use in order to play their games and here they are:

Console Games
First off, there are consoles. Now, there are only really three major players in this department and they are Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. These are the companies that are responsible for producing the Playstation, Xbox, and Switch respectively. In 2020 alone, more than 15.6 million units of the Nintendo Switch, 7.22 million units of the Playstation 4 and 2.17 million units of the Xbox One were sold. That doesn’t even represent the total amount of gamers that had bought the gaming devices in previous years. While the Nintendo Switch outsold both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 combined in 2020, the Playstation 4 still has the most lifetime units sold in its history.

PC Games
There are also PC games. PC gamers make use of laptops or desktop computers for their gaming. PC’s tend to have the ability to get higher specs and more immersive gaming experiences for gamers. PC also allows for online games to be played without any installations like the games you would find on online casino platforms. While high-spec PC’s tend to be more expensive than gaming consoles.

Mobile Games
Then there are mobile games. These are the types of games that can be played on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. While mobile devices don’t have as powerful technology as PCs or consoles, they have the added benefit of being accessible and convenient. It allows gamers to play their favorite games even while they’re on the go.
