This state govt to give Rs 5,000 as medical aid to COVID patients in home isolation

Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that an amount of Rs 5,000 will be given as medical aid to COVID patients on home isolation, who are below poverty line. This amount will be sent direct to the bank account of the patients.

Mr Vij said that it will be mandatory to have the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) of the beneficiary COVID patients to avail this medical aid. He said that private hospitals will have to upload the information of such patients at https://gmdahrheal.in/.  A helpline number - 8558893911 - has also been issued for COVID related assistance in the state. Besides this, a helpline number 1075 has also been started for rest of the state except Gurugram and Faridabad to disseminate information about COVID.

The Health Minister said that the State Government is committed towards ensuring good health of COVID patients. The state government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Lal, is making every effort to protect the people from this pandemic. He further added that under another initiative of Haryana Government, COVID patients of the state who are below the poverty line and are not availing the facility under Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be given subsidy and this amount will be deducted from the bill at the time of discharge of the patient. He also informed that the state government has set an incentive amount of Rs 1000 per patient per day to a maximum of Rs 7000 for the patients in private hospitals authorized by the state government for treatment of COVID, and this amount will be deposited in bank account of the hospitals when the patient is discharged.

Mr Vij also informed that while the state government is working to protect the lives of people during this disaster, social organizations are also coming forward to play an important role for this cause.  While appealing to the people, he said that in view the spread of corona infection, it is necessary to adhere to the guidelines and work for safeguarding the lives of others.  He said that people have played a pivotal role in containing the spread of corona infection earlier also, should give their full support in the similar manner.
