Two arrested, including a minor, for stealing 2 cars worth Rs 10 lakh from Pune showroom

Pune: The city police recently arrested two people on charge of allegedly stealing two cars worth Rs 10 lakh from a car showroom here.
 
On the night of March 31, the unknown thieves broke open the door of Chintamani Motors showroom in Hadapsar area of city and stole two cars worth Rs 10 lakh, police said on Thursday.
 
Next day, a case of burglary was registered against unknown persons at the Hadapsar police station.
 
Then, a team of Crime Branch Unit-5 visited crime scene and started the parallel investigation.
During investigation, they got a reliable information that one Pawan Alkunte, who had stolen the car, is coming to Pune from Yawat by changing the number plate of stolen car.
 
Acting on this information, police launched checking of vehicles at Shevadewadi on Solapur road and apprehended two suspects, including a minor, when they arrived at spot. They confessed their involvement in said crime.
 
Police seized two vehicles worth Rs 10.50 lakh from their possession, sources added.
