Two cute cubs delivered by Tigress Ankita will make your Sunday

Bhubaneswar: Normal coloured tigress Ankita delivered two normal coloured cubs last night inside the enclosure in Nandankanan Zoo last night.Zoo Deputy Director Jauant Das said Ankita, daughter of normal coloured tigress Sara delivered the first litter at 1012 pm and the second litter at 1040 pm last night in enclosure number 28 of the Zoo. 

The tigress delivered the cub after mating with normal coloured Zoo bred Tiger Saif received from Hyderabad Zoo last year.Mr.Das said the activity of mother and the cubs is being closely monitored through the CCTV installed inside the enclosure and as per the CCTV footage the mother is taking care of the two cubs.

Incidentally, today is the birthday of Tigres Ankita who was born on this day six years back from the pair of white tiger Risi and wild tigress Sara.With the birth of two tiger cubs, the tiger population in the Nandankanan Zoo has gone up to 26.They included 8 white colour (3 Male and 5 female) 16 normal colour (6 male and 8 female and 2 unsex) and 2 melanistic males.(UNI)
