Two HM militants killed in north Kashmir encounter

Srinagar: Two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today, official sources said. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants, security forces launched a search operation at Nathepora Bomai, Sopore.
 

However, when the security forces were moving towards a particular area, the militants hiding there opened fire, which was retaliated by security forces, ensuing an encounter, the sources added. Two HM militants hiding in the area were killed, they said, adding that the encounter has ended. Yesterday, four police personnel were injured in a militant grenade attack near police station Sopore.
