Patna: BJP National spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain on Sunday said the collapse of Sultanganj- Aguwani bridge over Ganga river was reflection of deep-rooted corruption and demanded a thorough inquiry by a central agency.
Shahnawaz told media persons here that Sultanganj- Aguwani bridge over Ganga river being constructed at the expense of Rs 1750 Crores, collapsed, causing a grave concern about quality of bridges in Bihar. The company engaged in construction of the bridge that had collapsed, should be blacklisted and quality of other bridges constructed by that firm must be tested, he said.
The BJP leader said that hard earned money paid by people as taxes, was being wasted. For how long would the people's money be washed away in water, he wondered.
Shahnawaz said his party has been raising the issue of corruption in Bihar and the bridge collapse has proved the charges of corruption. The good governance claim of the Grand Alliance now stands exposed, he remarked. (UNI)
