UP: Businessman kills mother, son, commits suicide after incurring heavy loss in business

Agra (UP): A 45-year-old businessman hanged himself and committed suicide allegedly after killing his mother and minor son in New Agra area of Agra district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Sunday.

Police sources said that Tarun Pratap Singh alias Jolly, a resident of Lawyers Colony, owned a pipe business. "On Sunday morning when Tarun's maid reached the house she found all the doors open. When she reached inside she found Tarun's body hanging from the ceiling," they said.

Police sources said that when the maid entered another room, she found the bodies of Tarun's mother Brajesh Devi (65) and son Kushagr Chauhan (12). "After hearing the cries of the maid the neighbours reached the spot and informed the police," they said.

Police sources said that the police recovered Tarun's mobile phone from the spot. "Before taking the extreme step Tarun made a video in which he admitted that he suffered heavy loss in the business due to which he was killing his family members," they said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Suraj Rai said that Tarun first killed his mother and son and later committed suicide. He said that Tarun made a confessional video before executing the crime.
