UP: Schools for Class 1 to 8 to reopen from THIS date

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday announced the start of regular classes from sixth to eighth standards from August 23 and for classes one to 5 from September 1.

The decision was taken by the state government on the recommendations of the State Level Health Expert Advisory Committee, said the state's Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal here on Monday after chief minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with his Team 9.

Monday saw the commencement of regular offline classes in secondary, higher, technical and vocational educational institutions with 50% capacity, for standard 8th and higher classes.

Classes will be held in two shifts while full care should be taken of the Covid protocol.

After Rakshabandhan, from August 23 classes 6th to 8th would resume their classes in schools while from September 1 students of classes 1 to 5 will start attending classes in schools.

All schools, colleges and universities have started regular classes from standard nine and above from Monday in the state. (UNI)
