Uttar Pradesh: 6 killed, 2 injured as car falls into drain

Kanpur Dehat: Six people were killed and two injured when a car carrying them fell into a drain in Sikandra area of Kanpur Dehat district here in Uttar Pradesh, police said here on Monday.
 
Police said Pankaj, a resident of Murra village under Derapur police station, along with his relatives had gone to Etawah to perform 'tilak' of his daughter.
 
While they were returning their car fell into the drain near Jagannathpur, they said.
 
Police said Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murthy along with the police force reached the spot and the occupants of the car were pulled out with the help of the villagers.
 
The injured were taken to the community health centre, where doctors declared car driver Vikas (42), Prachi (17), Sanjay alias Sanju (55), Golu (16), Prateek (10) and Khushboo dead, they said.
 
Police said Virat (18) and Vaishnavi (16) were being treated at the hospital.
