Basti: Officer on Special Duty of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and former PCS officer Moti Lal Singh died in a road accident in Basti district, police sources said.
Moti Singh, was posted in Gorakhpur camp office of the chief minister. Adityanath has expressed grief over the death of Singh.
Police sources said that the SUV in which Singh and wife were, collided with a tree in an attempt to save a stray animal in the Munderwa area late Thursday. "While Singh died on the spot, his wife and driver sustained serious injuries in the accident," they said.
The injured have been admitted to Gorakhpur medical college. Report said that Singh, who retired as an additional municipal commissioner, was on his way to Lucknow from Gorakhpur when the incident took place.
The CM office tweeted, "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the demise of Moti Lal Singh, of CM Camp Office, Gorakhpur. While praying for the peace of the departed soul, Maharaj ji has expressed his sympathies towards the bereaved family. Om Shanti" (UNI)
