Jalaun (UP): An undergraduate student was shot dead while she was returning home after appearing in examination in Ait area of Jalaun district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said.
Police sources said Roshni Ahirwar (20), a resident of Aindha village, was Bachelor of Arts (BA) first year student of Ram Lakhan Patel degree college. "Around 11:40 am while Roshni was returning home after appearing in the examination she was shot by two motorcycle-borne assailants in her head from the close range at Kotra trisection," they said.
Police sources said Roshni died on the spot. "The local residents attempted to nab the assailants but they managed to flee the spot. During this, the assailants left the firearm on the spot," they said.
